Hon. Marc J. Whiten was appointed as a Judge in 2007 by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. He presides in New York City Criminal Court in Bronx County as an Acting Supreme Court Justice and Deputy Supervising Justice of the Criminal Court. Judge Whiten graduated from New York Law School in 1984 and Carroll College (Wisconsin) in 1977. His legal career includes service as an Assistant District Attorney and Supervisor in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, an associate in the firm of Bower and Gardner, and a partner in the firm of Armienti DeBellis & Whiten. Judge Whiten is also a graduate of Julia Richman High School (New York) and Eleanor Roosevelt Junior High School (New York). He is admitted to practice law in New York State, United States Federal Court (Southern and Eastern Districts), as well as the United States Supreme Court. He is the son of a Tuskegee Airman and a Heritage member of the Tri-State Claude B. Govan Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen. He resides in Bronx County with his wife and daughter.
