Susan Hinkson ’98, LL.M. ’12

Executive Vice President, Capalino + Company

Susan Hinkson has recently joined Capalino + Company as Executive Vice President of the Land Use Planning and Zoning Group. Prior to joining Capalino + Company, Ms. Hinkson held senior level positions of significant responsibility in both the public and private sectors. She served as Capital Program Manager for the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs where she administered design and construction contracts for the city’s cultural institutions. As Deputy Commissioner of Planning and Community Development for Sullivan County, Ms. Hinkson oversaw several community development initiatives and programs. She served as the Brooklyn Borough Commissioner for the New York City Department of Buildings, enforcing the New York City Zoning Resolution and Building Code. Most recently, she served as Vice Chair and Commissioner of the New York City Board of Standards and Appeals, where she heard and adjudicated zoning variances, special permits, and administrative appeals cases. In addition to receiving two law degrees from New York Law School, Ms. Hinkson is a registered architect in the state of New York. She also sits on the Board of Trustees of Wave Hill in the Bronx.
