New York Law School, an independent and dynamic 120-year-old urban law school located in the heart of Lower Manhattan’s legal, government, and financial centers, seeks a Dean and President (“Dean”). The new Dean and President must have the vision and leadership skills to build on the progress the Law School has made in developing academic centers and programs -- including an innovative first-year skills curriculum -- promoting and strengthening our community of legal scholars and advancing our student-centered educational program.
The Dean and President reports to the Board of Trustees and is the educational and administrative leader of a complex, multi-dimensional law school community. The successful candidate must develop, in collaboration with the trustees, faculty, staff, alumni, and students, a clear educational vision consistent with the historic mission of the School. He or she is responsible for the support and professional development of faculty and staff. In addition, the Dean and President manages the physical and financial resources of the School, whose annual operating budget is approximately $80 million, and is the chief spokesperson to alumni and friends of the School, the media, and the legal community at large.
