Meet Seth Rosen
’99Tell us about your job. I’m
the Director of Major and Planned Gifts. I really have the best job in the
world because I get to meet and talk with alumni and ask them to support
the School. New York Law School alums live in every corner of the world,
and as an alum myself, I always feel very proud to see what others have
accomplished. What attracted you to New York Law
School? I returned to New York Law School because, as a
fund-raiser, the most important thing is to really believe in the
institution that you are raising money for—and I know that without a
doubt, New York Law School offers the best legal education a student can
find. I can honestly say that I owe much of my professional success to the
School. This is the place where I learned to analyze problems logically and
write in a clear and persuasive manner. As a member of Moot Court, I also
learned to speak to a group and think quickly on my feet. Although I
don’t practice law anymore, these are skills I use in my job every
day. What is your favorite aspect of your job? Meeting with alumni and learning about their time at the School and what
they went on to do with their education after graduation. There are
thousands of alums, and they all have unique stories to tell about how the
School shaped their professional and personal lives. Our alumni have gone
on to accomplish amazing things as litigators, judges, business people,
educators, and in so many other areas. You name it, and a New York Law
School alum has done it. I feel privileged to hear their stories
everyday. Tell us a fun fact! I’m a
marathon runner with five under my belt and hopefully dozens more to come.
My favorite run is the six-mile loop in Central Park, an oasis right inside
the best city in the world. Also, when I’m not out running, I’m
a tech fanatic. Whether it’s the latest Web application or a new Mac,
I want to try it out right
away! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
