A survey of commercial law as governed by the Uniform Commercial
Code. The course will cover the rights and remedies of sellers and buyers
of goods; the creation, perfection of, and consequences of perfection of
security interests in personal property; general principles governing
negotiable instruments, such as notes and checks; and documents of title.
Course coverage will also include recent innovations in electronic
payments and the transactional analysis of credit and security agreements.
This course is not open to students who have already taken Secured
Transactions or Sales and Negotiable Instruments.
