Introduction to the major debates in contemporary hi-tech copyright, which both shapes and is in turn shaped by technological innovation. Among the technologies considered are electronic music, DVDs, digital television, electronic books, and information databases. Course covers recent legislation and litigation relating to the future of software, movies, music, television, and books, and assesses how the law is stimulating, quashing, and shaping innovation; it is useful to anyone with an interest in intellectual property, information, technology, entertainment, or media law.

Prerequisite: Intellectual Property (CIP155) or by permission of the instructor. No technology background is required.
