EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION LAW (3) (LEL110)

Professors Seth Harris, Arthur Leonard and Margaret Leibowitz

Deals with constitutional and statutory prohibitions of categorical workplace discrimination by public and private employers, an area at the heart of modern workplace law practice. The main focus is on federal law, such as the Equal Protection and Due Process Clauses of the U.S. Constitution, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (race, color, sex, and national origin), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, as supplemented by state and local laws that may cover forms of discrimination not addressed by federal law, such as marital status and sexual orientation.
