EXPLAINING LAW TO THE PUBLIC I (2) & II (2) (LWR 400 & LWR 401)

Professor Jethro Lieberman

Working with the instructor, students will select legal topics of continuing public interest to research and to write in the form of comprehensive reports, and will then see these reports through to publication, for circulation to leading editorial and opinion writers in a variety of media across the United States. Students will be listed as authors or editors on their reports. Although time will be reserved for a weekly class session, we will not necessarily meet each week in person, to provide time for students to research and write. In the fall semester, students will concentrate in teams on developing, researching, and writing on selected topics; in the spring semester, students will publish their final drafts in book or monograph form. Registration is binding. Students will be graded on a pass-fail basis that will depend on completion of all assigned work.
