Federal Civil Litigation: Discovery Process (PRO 175) (2)

Honorable Debra Freeman

Provides an overview of the federal civil discovery process and also offers an opportunity for in-depth analysis of difficult discovery issues. Particularly suggested for future judicial clerks or litigators who would like a better understanding of how federal discovery is structured, and a chance to grapple with issues such as the appropriate breadth of discovery, the scope of privileges, the parameters of expert discovery, and the role of the court in overseeing the discovery process. The course will be taught primarily from recent judicial decisions, in cases arising in a variety of substantive legal areas.
