IP Licensing & Drafting Series (2) (CIP 105)

In an intensive format, this course provides a comprehensive study of Intellectual Property licensing and related contract drafting issues. Students will analyze and draft various trademark, copyright, patent and/or other intellectual property licenses and assignments, and will develop related negotiation skills and strategies. The course also will cover antitrust limits on licensing. The focus will be practical and will show how value can be created in intellectual property assets through licensing across a variety of industries.

Students will work in teams doing hands-on exercises in the area of intellectual property of greatest interest to them. When registering for this course, you must specify to which team you want to be assigned. A team must have a minimum enrollment of ten to be offered.

Requirements: Attendance at all class sessions, 3 graded term-time drafting assignments and 1 final drafting project.
