Professor Philip C. Segal

Examines the historical, philosophical, and legal basis of the juvenile court system in the United States; the juvenile court system as it exists today; and the full range of criminal procedures as applied to juveniles, including arrest, interrogation, search and seizure, confidentiality, diversion, pretrial detention, right to counsel, transfer to adult court, probable cause, and adjudicatory and dispositional hearings.

Prerequisite: Criminal Law (REQ400).
