Professor Elizabeth Chambliss
This course examines the organization of work and careers in law firms, the internal and external regulation of law firms, and modern management and strategic issues in law firms. The course focuses on ethics and regulatory issues as well as economic and strategic issues and covers both solo/small and large firms. The course is designed primarily for students who intend to go into private practice. The goal of the course is to prepare students to succeed in and effectively manage the increasingly complex organizations in which they will work. A substantial paper (including rough draft) is required, as well as periodic written comments about the course materials.
