What is an Attorney's role in real estate development or building community facilities? The course will include a pragmatic reality-based study of New York City's land use rules and procedures.

Coverage includes how the Attorney utilizes the NYC Administrative Code, including ULURP, the Zoning Resolution, Environmental Regulations, Building and Fire Codes; Article 78 Proceedings, Landmarks Procedures, Eminent Domain, Fair Share distribution etc. This seminar taught as an actual law firm analyzing actual projects with a strong ethical component. The seminar projects will involve the workings of the New York City Council, the Planning Commission, Community Boards, the Board of Standards and Appeals, the Landmarks Preservation Commission, the Department of Buildings, the NYS Supreme Court etc. A walking tour of land use issues in the neighborhood will be included as part of the curriculum.
