Justice Action Center Colloquium
This is a graded 2-credit mandatory seminar for students who affiliate with the Justice Action Center. The course examines how lawyers use law to effectuate social change. The course examines legal strategies such as class action litigation, individual client representation, legislative advocacy, law and organizing, and community economic development in the context of social justice movements including labor, education, poverty, the criminal justice system, immigration, and voting. Students are required to submit a short (250-word) paper each week and to write a final paper.
