Racial Justice Advocacy Clinic
In this project-based learning course students will work with the New York Law School Racial Justice Project and the Racial Justice Program of the American Civil Liberties Union on cutting-edge civil rights issues. Possible projects for the course include writing a U.S. Supreme Court amicus curiae brief, working on civil rights litigation, writing and publishing white papers, and investigating claims of racial discrimination. The evening section of this course will focus on criminal justice issues.
The students will work on most projects as a team, but will also work on individual projects. The semester will begin with class meetings to discuss the projects for the year. Class meetings will continue throughout the year, approximately every other week.
