32nd Annual Robert F. Wagner Competition Letter to Competitors
Dear Competitors:
On behalf of the
New
York Law School Moot Court
Association and the entire New York Law School Community, thank you for
registering to participate in the 32nd Annual Robert F.
Wagner National Labor and Employment Law Moot Court
Competition. We have tentatively scheduled this year’s Wagner
Competition to begin Thursday, March 6, 2008, with a
check-in at New
York
Law
School
on Wednesday
evening, March 5, 2008. The Final Round is scheduled for
Sunday, March 9,
2008, and will be webcast live.
The Wagner Competition is the Nation’s
largest entirely student-run moot court competition and the only national
competition dedicated exclusively to the areas of labor and employment
law. The Moot Court Association sponsors this competition in honor
of our distinguished alumnus and United States Senator, the late Robert
F. Wagner.
Competitors will argue in three Preliminary
Rounds spread over the course of two days, Thursday, March 6, 2008 and
Friday, March 7,
2008. Following the Preliminary Rounds, the
top sixteen teams will advance to the Octo-Finals. The
advancing teams will compete against each other according to their
rankings from the Preliminary Rounds (i.e. Team 1 vs. Team 16). The
Octo-Finals will occur on Friday, March 9, 2007 in the
early afternoon. Those teams advancing to
the Quarter Finals will be announced Friday evening following the
Octo-Finals. The Quarter Finals will occur on
the morning of
Saturday, March 8, 2008 and the Semi-Finals will
commence directly after the completion of the Quarter Final
round.
The top two teams competing in the final round will be announced
following the Semi-Finals. The
final round will occur Sunday, March 9, 2007
and will be webcast
live.
On Saturday evening, the New York Law School Moot
Court Association will host the Wagner Ball to celebrate all your hard
work. At the Ball, we will announce the winners of the three Best
Preliminary Round Oralists, three Best Petitioner Briefs, three Best
Respondent Briefs, and an award for Best Preliminary Round Team.
Good luck in preparing your oral arguments and we
look forward to seeing you in March.
Best Regards,
Michelle Benedetto & Chance Miller
