The Civil Rights Clinic provides students with the opportunity to represent low-income clients in a range of civil rights matters, including employment and housing discrimination, education reform and advocacy on behalf of juveniles released from detention centers who are facing reintegration and reentry barriers. Working under faculty supervision, students will be introduced to civil litigation and advocacy and the social context of civil rights litigation. Students will also participate in a seminar that will focus on relevant substantive law and lawyering skills, including client and witness interviewing, fact investigation and analysis, counseling, negotiation, mediation and trial advocacy.
