Courts as Classrooms

Faculty or students interested in attending court sessions may want to consult these sources for information on the location, hours, and dockets of state and federal courts in the New York area.

For New York state courts: New York CourtHelp, http://www.nycourts.gov/courthelp/cfacts2.html. Clicking on the county you're interested in will bring you to a list of all the New York State and New York City courts in that county, and to links for each of these courts to a range of information about each one.

For federal courts in New York: This FindLaw page, http://www.findlaw.com/11stategov/ny/courts.html, gives links to the federal courts sitting in New York (the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the federal district courts, and bankruptcy courts), and a range of other information about the courts in this state.

For federal and state courts in New Jersey, another FindLaw page, http://www.findlaw.com/11stategov/nj/courts.html, provides links to these courts' webpages.
