Professional Network

Become a part of NYLS Professional Network: students have access to a database of attorneys who have offered to speak with them to discuss such topics as the attorney’s career path, resumes, cover letters, and practice area options.  This enables NYLS Alumni to assist NYLS students in a variety of ways, without the obligation of maintaining an ongoing relationship. Register here to join the NYLS Professional Network.

Alumni Mentors

Serve as a mentor to one or more student(s).  Alumni Mentors are part of the Professional Network, and they may volunteer to serve as mentors only, or in addition to other ways they want to be involved.  Students will reach out to you directly to request a mentoring relationship, if you are listed in our database as a potential mentor.  As part of the mentoring relationship, mentors and mentees make a commitment to meet at least three times during the year.  During such meetings, we encourage you to discuss and refine your mentee’s career goals, share information about your law practice, refer them to fellow alumni and other professional contacts, and guide them as they enter the profession and learn more about the practice of law.  Register here to join the NYLS Professional Network and select to be a Mentor.
