Investiture of Professor Arthur S. Leonard

OPEN TO ALL ALUMNI AND FRIENDS

Celebrate Professor Arthur S. Leonard’s appointment to a distinguished faculty chair. Professor Leonard’s impressive career is rooted in his passion for using the law to advance equality. He is a widely respected legal authority and thought leader on employment law and LGBT law (AIDS law, lesbian and gay law, sexual orientation law, and the rapidly growing area of gay family law). Professor Leonard has been instrumental in chronicling legal issues relevant to the lesbian and gay community with LGBT Law Notes, the only publication of its kind in the country.

Public Interest Coalition Auction

Have a blast at our silent auction and live bidding on tickets, art, books, and one-of-a-kind experiences–while supporting students who want to intern with public service organizations. With your assistance, more students can afford to take unpaid internships with organizations dedicated to children and families, public health, human rights, immigration, employment law, and public defense.

Topic: Justice Moseneke will be discussing his newly published memoir, My Own Liberator (2016), which tells his story, from imprisonment on Robben Island as a teenager to his own law practice, the first free elections, and distinguished service on the country’s new Constitutional Court.

Hall of Judges Second Annual Ceremony

Last year, the School unveiled its Hall of Judges, honoring alumni who have served at every level of the judiciary in every jurisdiction. This year, our ceremony will recognize the late Honorable Arthur Schack ’80, as well as new members of the bench whose listings will be added to the wall.
