New York Law School alumni from the classes of 1961 and earlier are affectionately named the Old Guard. As a member of the Old Guard you are invited to participate in the Law School’s 119th Commencement Ceremony, on Friday, May 13, 2011 in Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
We are thrilled to announce this year’s Commencement Speaker is Hon. Cory A. Booker, Mayor, Newark, NJ.
In addition to the ceremony, you and a guest are invited to join Faculty, Trustees and Honorees at a reception preceding the ceremony for continental breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m. at The Center Room Restaurant located in Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center. At 9:15 a.m., a staff member will escort you to your reserved seat in the orchestra section of Avery Fisher Hall.
We hope you can attend this very special occasion. Please respond by April 22nd to Jimena Buitrago, Associate Director of Alumni Relations at 212-431-2189.
One of the most meaningful moments at Commencement is when alumni present diplomas to their graduating relatives on stage at graduation. If you have a relative who will be graduating on May 13th from New York Law School, we will be delighted to have you participate in this special New York Law School tradition.
For more information on how to participate in the upcoming 119th Commencement ceremony as an alumni relative, please feel call Jimena Buitrago, Associate Director of Alumni Relations, at 212.431.2189 or email at jbuitrago@nyls.edu.
