Jay Weiser

Professor Weiser is simultaneously an Associate Professor of Law and Real Estate at Baruch College in New York City.  His areas of expertise include Real Estate, Bankruptcy, Contract, Empirical Studies, Environmental, and Privacy Law; Law and Economics. 

His related professional activities include being Lead Counsel for the New York City Bar's amicus curiae briefs in the following cases: Hernandez v. Robles (New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, 1st Dept., 2005, and Court of Appeals, 2006); Shields v. Madigan (2nd Dept., 2005); and Samuels v. New York State Dept. of Health (3rd Dept., 2005, and Court of Appeals, 2006) (all cases challenging New York law on same-sex marriage); and Langan v. St. Vincent’s Hospital (2nd Dept., 2004; seeking recognition of surviving partner in Vermont civil union). 

Professor Weiser has been published extensively.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University, his Juris Doctor from Columbia School of Law at Columbia University and a Masters of Science from Standford.
