The next affiliation drive will begin in the spring 2013 semester. To receive notification when the drive opens, subscribe now to our blog, JusticeActionCenter.com.
Every spring, the Center holds a competitive application process, open to all 1L full-time students, and all 1L and 2L part-time/evening students, to apply for affiliation. (Formal affiliation for accepted students begins the following fall semester.) Students who join the Center participate in a focused curriculum that helps guide students through their remaining law school studies and helps prepare them for practice.

How to apply:
All 1L full-time students, and all 1L and 2L part-time/evening students, are welcome and encouraged to apply in the spring semester. Formal membership, however, does not begin until the following fall. For example, a 1L full-time student would apply in the spring of his first year of studies, and begin membership in the fall of his second year at the Law School.
Whether you are applying only to the Justice Action Center or to multiple Centers, you only submit one application. This "Common Center Application Form" is available in the spring on the New York Law School portal website. The form is Internet-based, meaning that you submit all necessary information through the website. (No paper is submitted directly to the Centers.) The next application period will be in the spring of 2013.
Note that the Justice Action Center requires more information than some other centers. Be sure to click the box next to "Apply for the Justice Action Center (additional requirements)" to reveal the additional fields.
Eligibility:
Students in their first year of study are welcome at all of JAC's public events. Because of the rigors of the first-year curriculum, however, students are not eligible for formal membership until the completion of their first-year coursework.
Membership is based on a competitive application process, and each applicant is judged on his/her own merit. Please note:
