Kathryn Gottschalk

C.E. Baker Fellow of the Diane Abbey Law Center for Children and Families

 

 

Kathryn Gottschalk is the 2012 – 2013 C.E. Baker Fellow at the Diane Abbey Law Center for Children and Families at New York Law School. Kate works with Director Carlin Meyer and Associate Director Geneviève Wachtell to implement the Abbey Center’s policy agenda of promoting family empowerment and facilitating law students’ entry into careers in family law and policy. Kate holds a B.A. in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado (2004) and a J.D. from New York Law School (2011).

Before joining the Abbey Center Kate was a legal consultant to the MergerWatch Project. The MergerWatch project advocates for health care policies and practices which are guided by scientifically-accurate, unbiased medical information. While attending New York Law School, Kate was an associate at the Justice Action Center and the Center for International Law, and a co-founded the Bee Knee’s Baking Company in Brooklyn, NY.

Kate spends her free time volunteering, including past work at Motherhouse in Calcutta, the Cradle of Love Orphanage in Tanzania and Help International in Thailand.
