About the Program in Law and Journalism

The Program in Law and Journalism is New York Law School’s home for the study of the relationship between lawyers, the media, and the public.   The Program offers students the opportunity to participate in its Associates Program, engaging in coursework, projects and externships focusing on legal journalism and media law.  In addition, the Program hosts thought-provoking speakers about current issues, and provides investigative reporting opportunities for students on our website.

Our esteemed board of advisors include noted First Amendment attorney Floyd Abrams, WNYC host Brian Lehrer, and the Columbia School of Journalism's Victor Navasky, just to name a few.

The Program is unique.  No other law school in the nation currently is as committed to quality journalism as New York Law School.  We benefit from a team of affiliated faculty who have worked as journalists and in media law, and who are active in helping our students achieve their goals.
