The Associated Press reported on January 18, 1997 that a law suit against America Online was filed in Dade County.
This law suit, which seeks class action status, is similar to suits filed in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York. It deals with service outages America Online had. These outages were caused by the increased demand, after AOL's introduction of a Flat-Rate p ricing plan, and an aggressive marketing campaign.
