Frequently Asked Questions

Can you help me locate experienced attorneys who might be interested in my practice?

Yes, we can help you recruit experienced attorneys.  NYLS Symplicity (our job database) is available to all our graduates. When you submit a job order form, simply indicate the experience level you are seeking. Jobs posted in NYLS Symplicity for students are only visible to students.  Jobs posted in NYLS Symplicity for admitted and experienced attorneys are only visible to those graduates.  If, at any time, you need assistance with a job posting, please contact our Employer Relations Team.

If I participate in the NYLS Fall or Spring Recruitment Programs, am I able to select the candidates I will interview?

Yes.  An employer participating in either Fall or Spring Recruitment On Campus Interviewing (OCI) typically interviews 20-21 students. Employers receive applications from students that meet the hiring criteria set forth by the employer.  The employer reviews the application materials and selects the candidates to be interviewed.

I have a small firm and would like to invite a student to intern in my office.   I simply don’t know if I can afford the extra expense, are funds available that might allow me to provide this experience?

There is a program available to you.  We appreciate your interest and will do all we can to help qualifying firms locate work-study eligible students who would be an appropriate fit for your office. Qualifying firms should contact the New York Law School Office of Financial Aid early in each recruiting season to determine whether they qualify to participate in this program.
