Government and public interest employers merit a special commitment from our Employer Relations Team because many NYLS graduates have elected to spend their entire careers addressing public concerns by providing legal services in these settings. Government and public interest employment settings have different recruiting needs depending on the agency and organization. We will help you identify which recruitment program is best for you.
Government employers and nonprofit organizations, participate each year in our Fall and Spring Recruitment Programs. We are always ready to serve any government or public interest employer through our Job Postings Database by filling out the Job Order Form.
Both Fall and Spring Recruitment Programs consist of two options:
In our On-Campus Program, employers identify the dates they prefer to conduct on-campus interviews of their selected candidates. Employers in our Resume Collect Program interview their selected candidates at their own offices.
Our Fall Recruiting Program serves employers who can project their hiring needs almost a full year in advance. Our Spring Recruiting Program primarily serves employers who know in the Spring of each year if they want to hire student interns for summer positions. Fall Recruitment Program allow employers to select entry level attorneys for employment after the bar exam. Please contact our Employer Relations Team if you need assistance determining which program will best address your recruiting objectives.
We begin accepting Fall Recruitment Program Registration in February of each year, and we continue through July. The first Fall On-Campus interviews take place in mid-August and the interviews continue into November. Spring Recruitment Program Registration occurs between November and January. Spring On-Campus interviewing begins in February and continues into April.
If you wish to participate in either Fall or Spring Recruitment Programs, please contact any member of the Employer Relations Team and ask to receive the appropriate Recruitment Program invitation or complete one of the registration forms. As always, our Employer Relations Team is ready to provide additional information and to answer your questions regarding these programs.
