No matter when you
received your education, your tuition was less than today’s.
On November 10, 2010 our community came together for a black-tie
Gala to honor two distinguished alumni and one amazing friend who uniquely
personify the Core Values of New York Law School, and who have taken up the
challenge of providing scholarships at the Law School, scholarships which
are fundamental to our sense of equality and commitment to opening up
opportunities.
The Gala honorees were:
Diane Abbey, Founder of the Diane Abbey Law Center for Children and Families, whose career has focused on our Core Value – Promote Justice for a Diverse Society;
Bruce A. Colbath ’85, Partner, Weil, Gotshal and Manges, whose career has focused on our Core Value – Foster Integrity and Professionalism;
Steven M. Klosk ’87, President and CEO, Cambrex Corporation, whose career has focused on our Core Value – Embrace Innovation.
In our third year of the
7-year Breaking New Ground. Again. Campaign, we are almost halfway to our
$100 million goal. Growing scholarship support is the primary goal of the
Campaign, and all monies raised from the Gala will go to support the great
work of the Diane Abbey Law Center for Children and Families and to fund
scholarships for students who are struggling during these challenging
financial times to follow in the footsteps or our honorees, to acquire a
great legal education as the foundation for fruitful and meaningful
lives.
