Mary L. Fellows

Visiting Professor of Law

Professor Mary Louise Fellows is a nationally recognized expert in trusts and estates, federal tax law, and feminist jurisprudence. She joins New York Law School in the spring 2012 semester to teach Wills, Trusts, and Future Estates. Previously, Professor Fellows taught for 19 years at the University of Minnesota Law School, where she was the first Everett Fraser Professor of Law and the first woman to hold a permanent appointment to an endowed chair at the university. She was also a professor at the University of Illinois College of Law and the University of Iowa College of Law and has been a visiting professor at Seattle University Law School, Columbia University Law School, Harvard University Law School, Cornell University Law School, and the University of Michigan Law School. Professor Fellows is a member of the American Law Institute and held positions as Adviser for the Restatement of the Law, Third-Property (Donative Transfers) and for the Restatement of the Law, Third-Trusts at the institute. She also serves as the representative of law schools on the Joint Editorial Board of the Uniform Probate Code.
