Justice Speaks: The Immigration Bill: Key Aspects and Events

November 7, 2013 @ 12:50 pm - 1:50 pm

Didn’t get a chance to read all of the 1,197 pages of the Senate Immigration Bill? That’s okay! Come join us for lunch and listen to a panel of experienced immigration reform activists explain key aspects of the bill.

If enacted, the Immigration Bill would comprise the largest-scale overhaul of our immigration system in more than 25 years. The bill would provide a road to U.S. citizenship for as many as 11 million unauthorized immigrants, allocate billions for militarization of the southern border, and restructure the family immigration system. It includes sweeping changes in the treatment of both existing undocumented workers and aspiring immigrants. The effects of the Immigration Bill are vast and far reaching, so be sure to know how!

Panelists include:
Lenni Benson, New York Law School Professor
Mark Noferi, Fellow at the Center for Migration Studies
Michael Mandel, AILA Advocacy Committee Co-Chair
