Lunch Lecture: An Introduction to Lloyd’s of London: Not Your Ordinary Insurance Market

March 27 @ 12:45 pm - 1:45 pm

While the influence of domestic carriers has broadened in the United States, Lloyd’s remains the world’s specialist insurance market. Unlike many other insurance brands, Lloyd’s is not a company; it’s a market where members join together as syndicates to insure risks. Lloyd’s syndicates write a diverse range of policies, covering casualty, property, marine, energy, motor, aviation, and many other types of risks. Dean Katsaros, a partner at Stalker, Vogrin, Bracken & Frimet LLP (an internationally recognized insurance and reinsurance law firm), and Leonard Sarmiento ’12, an associate at that firm, will discuss their experiences working for the London market.
