New York Law School may not have a football team that students can join. But that doesn’t stop us from being avid football fans. The Law School’s official team is the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, led by principal owner Zygi Wilf ’74. Wilf purchased the Vikings from Red McCombs in 2005 and has since led the team to many victories, including the NFC North Division championship for the 2008–09 season. This season, Wilf recruited famed quarterback Brett Favre, and the often-retired Favre has already proven that he is still a star.

Beyond the football field, Wilf has built a successful career as a real estate tycoon. He is President of Garden Homes, a family-owned real estate business based in Short Hills, New Jersey. Garden Commercial Properties, a subsidiary of Garden Homes, owns and manages more than 25 million square feet of retail and commercial space. Wilf is also an attorney at the Wilf Law Firm, a New Jersey-based firm that specializes in real estate transactions.

Wilf graduated from New York Law School in 1974 and has remained a strong supporter of the School ever since. He is currently a member of the Center for Real Estate Studies Advisory Board and he supports students through an important scholarship fund he established in his family’s name. In 2009, he was awarded New York Law School’s President’s Medal of Honor, which recognizes those who have made the most significant contributions to the history of the Law School by their exemplary professional lives and their generosity.
