NYLS on iTunes U

New York Law School offers students, faculty, alumni, and the general public the opportunity to download and watch faculty lectures and conferences on a range of legal topics for free on iTunes U, the mobile educational site of iTunes.

Apple’s iTunes U is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and provides access to educational content from hundreds of colleges and universities.

ITunes U is an innovative service that allows New York Law School to provide our students and anyone browsing the site admission to the intellectual discourse taking place on campus from the comforts of a home computer or on-the-go. This portable university provides the educational resources of our faculty not just to our students, but to a wider and broader audience that might not have been able to have such access before.

New York Law School’s iTunes U podcasts can be accessed by visiting the iTunes Store. The Law School’s iTunes U site is also searchable in the iTunes search engine by topic, professor, name, and school name. The podcasts cover a range of topics, from the environment to civil liberties to virtual worlds. Some of the featured podcasts currently available include:

  • “Ain’t No Going Back: Teaching Mental Disability Law Courses Online,” with Professor Michael Perlin, Director of the Online Mental Disability Law Program.
  • “Saving Our Environment from Washington, D.C.: How Congress Grabs Power, Shirks Responsibility, and Shortchanges the People,” with Professor David Schoenbrod.
  • “ACLU State of Civil Liberties: Supreme Court Justice Scalia & Professor Nadine Strossen.”
  • “Virtual Worlds and Learning” panel from State of Play/Terra Nova Symposium.
  • “SBA Presents,” the Student Bar Association’s weekly podcast featuring interviews with faculty and students about the New York Law School experience.
