New York, NY (November 2, 2009)—New York Law School is excited to announce the launch of The Obiter Dictum (http://theobiterdictum.org), an innovative Web-based publication that will complement the printed Law Review. Unlike many journals of legal scholarship, this exclusively online journal contains brief, accessible content for the general public, as well as interactive blogging and tagging features. It will also provide information about current legal issues and scholarship in a format both lawyers and laypersons will find easy-to-read, interesting, and enjoyable.
We invite you to not only visit The Obiter Dictum, but to also help develop this interactive publication by blogging your comments to site content, which includes: essay-like adaptations of select Law Review articles; summaries of recently-decided cases of general interest; a list of legal blogs, hand-picked for helpful research purposes; and tagging tools, which are metadata functions that both users and site administrators may utilize to organize and simplify navigation of our Web page.
In the future, The Obiter Dictum will expand to include additional content written exclusively for the Web. Thank you in advance for visiting our site and participating in this unique New York Law School publication. We look forward to your feedback!
General publication questions not related to specific content postings may be directed to theobiterdictum@law.nyls.edu.
