New York Law School Announces Winners of Student Video Contest

New York, N.Y. (January 19, 2011)—New York Law School is proud to announce the winners of its first ever “Learn law, take action” video contest, in which students created videos demonstrating how they (or their classmates) live the Law School’s motto.

The contest, opened to J.D. students enrolled in the fall 2010 semester, included three top prizes in the form grants that will be applied to tuition and fees charged for the 2010-11 academic year.

First place winner is 3L Seena Ghaznavi, Evening Division, who took a comedic approach to in showing his work with the Institute for Information Law & Policy, the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy, and by helping to create interactive study tools for professors and students.

Second place winner, 3L Jonathan Weinstein, Day Division, featured a classmate who participates in the Urban Law Clinic and an externship with the New York City Housing Court.

Third place winner, 3L James French, Day Division, interviewed four classmates who participate in the Legal Information for Families Today, the Sports Law Society, the Environmental Law Society, and the Domestic Violence Project.

Finalists in the video contest were chosen by a screening committee of faculty and administrators. The winners were then chosen by a vote from the entire New York Law School community.
