To promote students' knowledge of legal careers in music and entertainment industries to invite speakers for both information and networking purposes. To encourage NYLS professors in the Intellectual Property field to have school-wide seminars/lectures about their own careers, classes they teach, firms/clients they work(ed) with, and overall professional strategies to become successful entertainment attorneys. To involve career services and mentoring programs in developing students' better understanding of careers in entertainment, conducting jobs/internships searches as well as developing new externship/internship opportunities in music and entertainment industries. Encourage NYLS alumni specifically in the music and entertainment industry to help NYLS students develop new career opportunities. Encourage second and third year students to communicate with 1Ls, which would include sharing NYLS experiences, providing academic advice or talking about their first professional experiences in the industry. We conduct on an averagetwo social events per year involving other law schools and, when possible, NYLS alumni.
