Barbara Kent

 
 
Barbara Kent was recently elected President of the Coalition for Debtor Education. Barbara worked for 21 years at the New York State Banking Department, both as an attorney, and later as the Director of Consumer Services and Financial Products. She served briefly in 2003 as the acting superintendent of banks.
 
 

She is a 1966 graduate of Case Western Reserve University, and received a M.A. in Political Science in 1969. She received her J.D. from New York Law School in 1974. She is a member of the New York State and New York City Bar Associations, and has been on the Board of Directors of the Coalition For Debtor Education for approximately six years.

 

Professor Susan Block-Lieb

Prof. Block-Lieb teaches contracts, bankruptcy and commercial law courses at Fordham Law School, including advanced courses on Corporate Reorganization in Bankruptcy and International Insolvency Law. She is Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors for the Coalition for Debtor Education, a member of the Advisory Board to the American Bankruptcy Law Journal, the co-managing editor for the Annual Survey of Bankruptcy Law, and a delegate from the American Bar Association to UNCITRAL’s Insolvency and Secured Transactions Working Groups. 
 
Together with Prof. Karen Gross of New York Law School, Prof. Block-Lieb is the recipient of a 2002 New York State Bar Association President’s Pro Bono Service Attorney Award. She is a prolific writer of law review and other articles, including:
