New York, NY, November 6, 2003— City Planning Commission Reports and
Department of Buildings Interpretations of the Zoning Code will now be regularly
and comprehensively reported on www.citylaw.org, the Web site of the Center
for New York City Law at New York Law School.
There is no charge for the access. The reports and interpretations are fully
searchable and easily located. Only current and future reports and
interpretations will initially be available, but over time back reports and
interpretations will be added.
The two new land use agencies joins nine other New York City agencies on the
Web site:
- Department of Consumer Affairs (decisions dating back to January 1, 2003)
- Tax Appeals Tribunal (decisions dating back to 1995)
- Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (opinions dating back to 1978)
- Office of Collective Bargaining (decisions dating back to 1968)
- Conflicts of Interest Board (advisory opinions and enforcement actions
dating back to 1989)
- Commission on Human Rights (decisions dating back to 1995)
- Board of Standards and Appeals (decisions dating back to January 2003)
- Environmental Control Board (decisions dating back to January 2003)
- Loft Board (decisions dating back to 1996)
The City Planning Commission is responsible for passing, interpreting and
applying the zoning resolution. The Department of Buildings enforces standards
for the construction and use of buildings, and enforces the City's Building
Code, Electrical Code and Zoning Resolution, New York State Labor Law and New
York State Multiple Dwelling Law.
