NYC Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild
Annual Dinner
The annual dinner of the NYC Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild will be on Friday, March 19, 2004 at the Sherton Hotel, 53rd & 7th Ave. This is the biggest event for the NLG during the year and serves as a crucial fundraising opportunity for Guild work. This will be of particular importance as the Mass Defense Committee prepares for the Republican National Convention in late August.
This year the Chapter is honoring Barry Scheck and Peter Neufeld, long-time members of the Guild, for their incredible work with the Innocence Project that has used DNA testing to successfully free many wrongfully convicted,
including dozens on death row.
Part of the fund raising is a dinner journal for which ads are placed with messages recognizing the honorees. The Mass Defense Committee has always had an ad. I urge you to join it with a contribution of $25. Depending on how many sign up will determine whether we have a full-page ad ($750) or an 1/8 page ad ($125).
There is a rapidly approaching deadline, so please RSVP to me ASAP at bkbentley@compuserve.com
