In Spring 2002, the European Union adopted a series of new regulatory directives designed to rationalize the regulation of electronic networks. In the past 12 months, the various national regulatory administrations in the 15 member nations have been implementing these five directives. Technologically neutral, the new framework applies to all electronic communications networks and services telephone, cable, satellite, Internet, etc.

New York Law School's Media Center invites you to join a panel of transnational policy and practice experts for an informed discussion of the new framework. Among the questions we will address are:

  • How do the new directives change the landscape of telecom regulations in the EU?
  • What are the major issues transnational networks must address to meet their new obligations?
  • How will the new framework impact analogous regulation in the US?
  • How will the framework affect deal making?
