NEW YORK, NY, February 27, 2004New York Law School will celebrate its 10th year of hosting mock trials on Monday, March 1 with the trial of Alfred Dreyfus, a French Jewish captain accused of espionage and sent to Devil’s Island in a case that rocked France in 1899.

The mock trial tradition began at New York Law School in 1995 with the trial of John Wilkes Booth. Since then the mock trials, often performed whimsically and featuring songs and dances, have tried such notable figures as Aaron Burr, John Dillinger, Billy the Kid, and even Dorothy Gale from The Wizard of Oz.

Monday’s mock trial will take place at 5 p.m. in the Stiefel Reading Room at New York Law School, 57 Worth Street (corner of Church Street). Register online at www.cmcnyls.edu. The mock trial is presented by The Media Center at New York Law School.
