GENERAL
NYLS provides digital printing to all students via the network.  Each student will receive one “Autoteller card” at the beginning of the academic year that will print 300 pages on OCE copiers/printers.  Autoteller cards may be replenished at Autoteller dispensers at 10 cents per page after the initial 300 “free” copies are depleted.  Autoteller card dispensers are located in the Library and in the Student Lab.  You can add value or purchase a new card in all Autoteller locations.   The Autoteller card dispensers will accept $1 bills only for the purchase of a new card, but will accept bills in any denomination up to $20 for adding value to an existing card.
OCE digital printers/copiers can be used to print from a networked computer or to copy an existing document. Whenever you print from an application in one of the computer labs, the print job will automatically be sent to an OCE digital printer/copier.

OCE printers/copiers are located in the Student Lab in the lower level of Building C (Lab L3), Career Services on the 5th floor of Building A and throughout the Library.

OCE Autoteller cards cannot be redeemed if lost
Your initial card with 300 copies will be numbered and can be traced.  If a card is found it should be returned to the Office of Business Operations at 57 Worth St., 6th floor (x2830).  Numbered cards can be returned to the original owner if found, all other cards are like cash and will not be replaced by NYLS if lost.  You must follow the printing instructions carefully.  No credit will be given if you erroneously print someone else’s job on your card.  If you lose credits on an Autoteller card through malfunction of an OCE printer or lose a print job due to jammed copies, contact Business Operations at 212-431-2830 for credit. Please take the misprinted pages with you and be prepared to describe how the printer malfunctioned.

Printing Tips
Ensure your Autoteller card has enough value to print your entire job before you send your job to the printer. 
Every time you insert your card in the reader it will display how many pages you have left. 

  • Always check that the OCE printer is not out of order before you send your job to the printer. If the printer is unavailable you may wish to save your work to the U: drive or thumb drive and print from another location.
  • Don’t forget to remove your Autoteller card when you have finished printing/copying!  Lost cards will not be replaced!
  • Use PIN numbers to send your job to print and always pick up your print job immediately. 
  • Make it a habit to “delete” your print jobs from the queue as soon as  they are printed.  This will prevent you or someone else from re-printing a job by accident.
