When you print from an application in a computer lab, your print job will automatically be sent to an OCE digital print queue. You will be required to verify the job and release it from the print queue. Jobs may be sent secured with PIN # or unsecured.
Printing Step By Step
- While logged into the NYLS network, initiate a print job within the application you are using by executing the print command. The command will vary across applications (e.g. MSWord, WordPerfect, etc.)
- A Windows print dialog box will appear that displays the OCE printer where the job will be sent. If you wish to select an OCE print option, click the properties button in the Windows print dialog box.
An OCE print dialog box will appear that displays various options. You may change the following options in this box: Number of copies, One sided vs. two sided printing (each side counts as 1 page), Security – If you click this box you will be prompted to enter PIN # of up to 6 digits. If you choose to use PIN # write the number down. You will need this number to release your job from the print queue.
- Finish setting options and click OK in the Properties dialog box. This sends the job to the OCE printer.
- Go to the OCE printer and insert your Autoteller card into the card reader box on the left side of the printer.
- The display on the OCE printer will have 5 buttons along the bottom that function according to what is currently on the display panel. Your username will be listed on the panel. Use the up/down arrow keys to the right of the display to highlight your workstation number.
- Once your username is highlighted, press the key under “show documents” on the control panel. The print jobs in your queue will appear on the right side of the display. All jobs are highlighted by default. To print a specific job use the up/down arrow keys to the right of the display to highlight the print job you want. To print ALL of your jobs, press the button under “select all” on the display. All jobs will be highlighted again.
- The digital display will show the number of copies to be printed. If you wish to change the number, use the numbered buttons underneath the display to increase or decrease the number of copies.
Hit the green Enter key to begin printing your jobs.
- If you used a PIN# then the display will prompt you for this number once the enter key has been pressed. Use the numbered buttons underneath the display to enter the PIN #.
- Printed documents will stay in the queue with a check mark next to them. It is a good idea to delete jobs once printed. Your deletion of jobs is the only way they will be taken off the queue. Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight the jobs you want to delete (or hit select all). Depress the button under “delete” on the control panel display.
- The card reader box display will read out the remaining pages left on your card. Press the orange button on the card reader to retrieve your Autoteller card.
