There are headset units that can interface with the telephone system.  A headset is particularly helpful if place calls or are on the telephone an extended period of time.  Should you no longer require the use of a headset please return it to me so that I can reassign it.

Features
The headset is comprised of a separate base unit and dual earpiece unit.  A headset button is added to your telephone to enable the unit to interface with it.  There is also a volume control button, headset activation button, and mute button on the unit.  The dual earpiece is attached to the headset unit by a cord that has a simple disconnection joint.

How to operate
To operate the unit you must depress the headset button on your telephone (a dark triangle would appear next to the key) and the corresponding button on the headset unit.  The headset unit has a volume control button. The mute button enables you to silence a caller is privacy is necessary.  To deactivate the unit you would turn-off the button on your telephone (the dark triangle would disappear) and the headset unit.

The headset unit and telephone headset button must both be depressed to operate the unit and both must be deactivated to turn-off the unit.  Failure to turn both buttons off in unison will prevent your use of the telephone handset and give you the impression that your telephone is broken.  Always check to make certain that the buttons are both on or off.

Maintenance
Two (2) double AA batteries power the headset unit.  They are located behind the half-round panel on the left side of the unit.  Depress this panel and it will expose the battery compartment.  You will know when the batteries need to be replaced when the volume is low or you hear a beeping sound when using the unit.

The voice tube (the part into which you speak) should present few problems. Never touch the end of it because there are fiber-optic fibers in the end cap. On rare occasions it may need to be replaced if callers cannot hear you. Always check the status of the batteries first if there is a problem with being heard.
