Your ability to sound knowledgeable, focused, and directed will impress many prospective employers.  It will also help you obtain interviews!  You will be able to write targeted cover letters that address employers' needs, and demonstrate your ability to meet those needs through your knowledge of employers' practice areas.  Finally, by focusing your energy and time on an area of interest, you will have the opportunity to build a resume that demonstrates valuable practical experience and commitment to that practice area.
