Charles E. Phillips Jr., Class of 1993
President
Oracle Corporation

Charles Phillips is president of Oracle Corporation and a member of its Board of Directors. He is responsible for global field operations, including consulting, marketing, sales, alliances and channels, and customer programs, as well as corporate strategy.

Prior to joining Oracle, Mr. Phillips was a managing director with Morgan Stanley in its technology group. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1994 and started on Wall Street in 1986 with The Bank of New York.

Mr. Phillips is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the Washington D.C. Bar, and the Georgia State Bar. He is a member of the 100 Black Men Organization, and Technet, a technology industry lobby. He is a board member of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, as well as the Rhythm and Blues Foundation, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of New York Law School. Mr. Phillips has worked on several local, state, and national political campaigns, from city council to presidential races.

Mr. Phillips earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the United States Air Force Academy in 1981, an M.B.A. from Hampton University in 1986, and his J.D. from New York Law School in 1993. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1981 to 1986, achieving the rank of Captain.
