Presented by: Liz Moore, Nixon Peabody LLP & New York Law School Human Resources Department
This class is mandatory for all support and administrative staff
Objectives of this 1.5 hour session:
- Identify ways to ensure that all members of the community are respected
- Provide an environment where we appreciate differences and value individual strengths
- Permit the law school to benefit from the differences in perspectives and assumptions that are one of the most important factors in a learning environment
- While heterogeneity alone is not a guarantee of a productive environment, research has consistently shown that it positively impacts creativity, innovation and team productivity - if people can transcend and value their differences
- Maintain an environment that allows individuals to achieve their full potential
- Continue to be able to recruit and retain the best and brightest
- Reinforce the unique responsibilities of supervisors and managers who manage in a diverse environment
