This class is mandatory for all support and administrative staff

Objectives of this 1.5 hour session:

  • Identify ways to ensure that all members of the community are respected
  • Provide an environment where we appreciate differences and value individual strengths
  • Permit the law school to benefit from the differences in perspectives and assumptions that are one of the most important factors in a learning environment
  • While heterogeneity alone is not a guarantee of a productive environment, research has consistently shown that it positively impacts creativity, innovation and team productivity - if people can transcend and value their differences
  • Maintain an environment that allows individuals to achieve their full potential
  • Continue to be able to recruit and retain the best and brightest
  • Reinforce the unique responsibilities of supervisors and managers who manage in a diverse environment
