Mini-Machinima Film Festival

Machinima (muh-sheen-eh-mah) represents the convergence of filmmaking, animation and video game technology. Machinima is the art of filmmaking inside a real-time, 3D virtual environment such as a virtual world or a videogame. Because Machinima relies on easily accessible and affordable tools, it democratizes filmmaking, allowing a new generation of independent filmmakers to practice live-action cinematography. The State of Play plays host every year to a Mini Machinima Film Festival, showcasing the best of the year’s Machinima shorts and a preview of the Machinima Film Festival, (New York City, November 12, 2005 http://festival.machinima.org).
