Merit Scholarship Recipients

Make sure you understand the requirements regarding renewal of your merit scholarship for the 08-09 academic year.

  • Check your original merit scholarship contract (the one you received when you were admitted) for criteria required for renewal. You may acquire a copy of your contract at the Registrar's Office.
  • The criteria must be met as stated on your contract or your merit scholarship will not be renewed.
  • Generally, merit scholarship renewals require a minimum cumulative G.P.A. calculated at the end of the spring semester (2008 summer classes are not included in the calculations).
  • G.P.A. calculations used for scholarship renewal are not rounded to the nearest tenth- a 3.19 is not the same as a 3.20!

Important! 2007 New York Law School and Trustee Scholars must be invited to and accept an invitation to the Harlan honors program to retain the full value of their scholarship. Otherwise, the value of the scholarship will be reduced to the next lower scholarship level:  New York Law Scholar would become a Trustee Scholar and a Trustee Scholar would become a Dean Scholar.
